The Real Diet for Inflammatory Bowel Conditions

The #1 thing that you need to know is that you cannot eat your way into or out of any inflammatory bowel condition. It’s not about food. You could eat the worst possible diet and it would not give you IBS. The same can be said about eating only organic food —

Why Do I Have Mucus In My Stool?

People who see mucus in their stool are always scared and confused. They can understand diarrhea but mucus? It might sound surprising to know that this is happening for a good reason. It is trying to protect you.

This occurs in more advanced cases of inflammatory bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s.

C-Diff or temporary urgent diarrhea

Clostridium Difficile = temporary brutal urgent diarrhea. Sounds like a lot of fun doesn’t it? Certainly not if you have experienced it. One other significant symptom is a very sore – raw butt. Notice that I said c-diff is ‘temporary.’

Unlike other conditions that have diarrhea as a major symptom c-diff comes and goes-typically after 2-3 days.

IBS, Colitis, UC, Leaky Gut and Crohn’s. What is the difference?

Wanna know what is the difference? Guess what!

There is none.  Everything you have been told about these conditions either being autoimmune system diseases or that the cause is unknown and that there is no cure – is wrong. You need to know this. You need to think about this. You need to do some homework on this and you need to start asking questions of the people who are in charge of your health.

Constipation and Heartburn

How is it possible that these very common gastrointestinal problems are related?

After all one of them – constipation involves the lower GI and the other heartburn involves the upper GI-the esophagus.

Never heard of such a thing? Well you are not alone. It is unlikely that your gastroenterologist knows either.

Everything You Think You Know About Your Gastrointestinal Tract Is Wrong

  • You know almost nothing about it because until the 2nd 1/2 of the last century you didn’t need to as it and you used to be self sufficient. That has changed.
  • Nothing has changed in the last 50 years of inflammatory bowel disease treatment.
  • There is no effective medical treatment for any IBD.

Diarrhea Is Our Friend

If you have any of the inflammatory bowel conditions there is a good chance that a predominant symptom is diarrhea——thank god for diarrhea!

We are so lucky to have a mechanism in our body that when our bowel is irritated it dumps a lot of water into it whitch then causes diarrhea. If you have a little diarrhea it is a little blessing-big urgent -out of control-life debilitating-butt getting raw diarrhea is a great big blessing.

Colitis Flare Ups

  • What is Colitis? It is a chronically irritated colon akin to irritable bowel syndrome.
  • What happens—what does it feel like? The most common symptoms are sharp pain–cramping-burning anywhere below the navel. Often there will be some diarrhea and in severe cases there will be blood and mucus in stool—-that’s ulcerative colitis.

Foods To Not Eat If You Have IBS, Colitis or Crohn’s.

I have stated many times that food has nothing to do with inflammatory bowel or stomach problems including acid reflux. That is true in the context of what causes these conditions. You cannot eat your way into or out of these conditions.

The nature of these conditions is that there is damage to the tissue.

Where Do Probiotics Come From?

You are taking probiotics and you know nothing about them. Here are a few things you need to know.

What are they? pro—means for & biotic means life. They are ‘good’ beneficial strains of bacteria.

What do they do? They control ‘bad’ bacteria. They kill infections—-they are what our immune system is made of.
