Do you know what are the usual 9 questions I get from my patients related to colitis? Check them out!
What is Colitis?
Colitis is the erosion and chronic inflammation of the intestinal wall by our digestive acids.
What is the cause of Colitis?
Colitis is caused by the use of manmade synthetic antibiotics that are delivered to our colon via either prescriptions or our food and water supply which kill off the mucosal lining that block our digestive acids from eating holes in our intestinal wall.
What are the symptoms of Colitis?
Colitis symptoms include pain – bloating – persistent and urgent diarrhea.
What is Ulcerative Colitis?
U.C. is an advanced version of colitis with more severe symptoms such as 24 hour diarrhea with the appearance of mucus and blood in the stool. Ulcerative Colitis is one step away from crohn’s.
How is Colitis diagnosed?
There is no accurate conventional medical method to diagnose colitis or any of the other inflammatory bowel conditions such as IBS or crohn’s. The best way to diagnose colitis is by the body’s language-it’s symptoms.
Is there a specific Colitis treatment?
The proper holistic treatment for colitis is to replace the mucosal lining to protect the intestinal tissue from the digestive acids while at the same time rebuilding the eroded tissue by using the actual organic raw materials that the intestines/colon is made of.
If I have Colitis will I need to have surgery?
Not if you receive the proper treatment. See above. Without the proper colitis treatment there is a real possibility that you may need surgery in the future.
Is there a Colitis Diet?
Yes and no. The only dietary restriction is to temporarily eat a low fiber diet, which is no raw fruit- raw vegs- nuts- seeds or corn. We don’t need to drag roughage over already irritated tissue making the symptoms even worse. Everything else is fair game.
Does Colitis ever go into remission on it’s own?
No – without the proper treatment it will continue to get worse and eventually manifest as a more serious condition such as Crohn’s Disease.
I just might save your colon.
