An example of when any IBD is treated properly.

This poor guy came to me with a pretty nasty case of ulcerative colitis that was moving towards crohns “disease.” At 8 years old he had suffered from this at such a critical time of his life. As you can see from the Pre Appt Form–the doctor’s solution is to take 3 medications and at that he still had symptoms. In the middle of this he also contracted C-Diff which is a bacterial infection and is always caused by treatment with antibiotics . This creates the need to take another round of antibiotics which digs a deeper hole and set him back minimally 3 weeks. This created a rapid downward spiral from which most don’t escape and then fall prey to the conventional view that there is no cure. Without the proper care he was on pace for colon surgery likely within the next 3-4 years. This guy still has a way to go but we reversed that spiral and have some created some nice momentum in the right direction.

Good Morning Dr. Snow. We got some great news at xxxxx’s GI appt on Thursday. The doctor felt that the blood at this point was from an anal fissure and that the disease is finally in remission.  I find the timing very interesting as he’s been on your protocol for a little over 5 weeks; not to mention the c-diff went away and we were able to get him off the flagyl at about the same time, which I’m sure also helped his healing process. After only 5 sitz baths and A&D ointment on the affected area Nicholas had only an extremely small amt of blood on the toilet paper from his last BM.
