Ulcerative Colitis is also referred as UC. It is just a more serious version of colitis which is a more serious version of IBS. Essentially it is a pothole in the wall of your colon. This hole has gone deep enough to hit a blood vessel that springs a leak. You will know you have it when you see blood in your stool. Other common symptoms are urgent diarrhea and intestinal cramping. An ulcerative colitis flare-up is typically triggered by something we do such as eating too much fiber or drinking excess coffee or alcohol. Stress can also play a role. These do not cause UC but only aggravate the pre-existing condition.
The proper diet for someone suffering from UC is to temporarily eat low fiber foods only. As I have said many times a good or poor diet cannot cause or heal any inflammatory bowel condition. The most they can do is to exacerbate or minimize the symptoms. You can’t eat your way into or out of UC.
The same goes for any supposed ulcerative colitis home remedy. These may give you some temporary relief but ultimately the colon needs to be fed the very raw materials that the tissue is made of. You need brick and mortar to build a brick wall. So doesn’t the bowel need the organic version.
If we know that the bowel is made of skin- fat and muscle and we know what those 3 are made of then that gives us a head start in repairing our colon. Now all we need is a skilled mason.
